Year 2

Home learning week beginning 18.1.21 with live lessons

Live lessons are marked in red. Year 2 have the same 'live' slots everyday.

Phonics is now going to be delivered using the Little Sutton English Hub Letters and Sounds videos on YouTube. For the majority of the children in Year 2, they need to complete the lesson linked in red as this will be revising alternative spellings of different phonemes e.g ay and a_e. If your child is finding these lessons particularly tricky or they have a SEN support plan linked to phonics, we suggest clicking the purple link for the 'alternative' lesson. These lessons are delivered by the same English Hub however they have a heavier focus on blending sounds together and tackle sounds from earlier on in the Letters and Sounds scheme.

Farewell/ story time

Look back at all that you have done this week at home – why are you a ‘Star of the Week’?

Wednesday afternoon is now being timetabled for all staff from Year 1 to Year 6 as their weekly PPA time. This means that instead of our daily farewell, we would like the children to take part in some form of physical exercise. This could be Joe Wicks' daily workout, completing some Supermovers (BBC) videos or simply getting out into the garden to carry out some exercise.
