    In Year School Transfer/Application for Admission

    If you are considering St Barnabas CE Primary School for your child, please review our full admission arrangements below. We also encourage you to read through our prospectus to gain a deeper understanding of life at our school.

    To apply for a place, please complete the St Barnabas Admission Form and email it to the school office. Along with the completed form, you must include:

    • Your child’s original birth certificate or passport
    • Photo ID of the parent/carer
    • Proof of your current address

    If your child is currently attending another Primary School, an In-Year Transfer Form must also be completed by Parents/Carers and signed by the Headteacher of their current school.

    Acceptable proof of address includes:

    • A copy of your most recent Council Tax bill
    • A recent utility bill (gas, water, electric – dated within the last 6 months)
    • A solicitor’s letter confirming exchange of contracts, specifying the completion date and new address
    • A signed and dated tenancy agreement from Birmingham City Council or a recognised Birmingham Housing Association
    • An official government agency letter regarding state benefits or pension

    You may either drop the completed form and documents at the school office or email them to: enquiry.stb@fioretti.co.uk

    Please note: If a place is offered, original documents must be presented to the school office for verification.

     

    Reception 2025-2026 Admissions Information

    Applications for Reception are made online and more information on how to do this can be found below:

    If you wish to make an application under the faith criteria, you may do so by collecting a faith form for your Vicar to complete and returning this to the School Office by the deadline listed below. This is in addition to the online application made with Birmingham City Council.

    Application Period Starts Online 1st October 2025
    Deadline for online applications 15th January 2026
    Deadline for faith claim forms to school 15th January 2026
    National offer day 16th April 2026
    Deadline for lodging appeals 15th May 2026

    Late applications for a reception place still need to be registered through the Local Authority and not directly with the school.

    Nursery 2025 Admissions Information

    St Barnabas' Nursery has a yearly intake every September.  Children can start nursery in the term after their third birthday.

    Nursery Funding and Admissions at St. Barnabas Nursery

    • Free Entitlement:
      All children aged 3 – 4 are entitled to 15 hours per week of free nursery education.
    • Extended Hours for Working Parents:
      • Working parents may be eligible for up to 30 hours of free childcare per week.
      • To check eligibility and apply, visit: www.childcarechoices.gov.uk.
    • Full-Time Provision (if not eligible for 30 hours):
      Parents can pay £75 per week if they want their child to attend full-time and are not entitled to the 30-hour offer.
    • Application Deadline:
      The deadline for applying for a place at St. Barnabas Nursery is 15th January 2026.
