Geography and History
At St Barnabas pupils are given the opportunity to cover all the statutory areas of study detailed in the National Curriculum and also some units which reflect their community and local interests. Some units are exclusively focused on either Geographical or Historical knowledge but others are a mix of both.
In the lower years pupils develop their understanding of the world around them and move on in Key Stage 2 to acquiring knowledge about specific periods in history and geographical locations.
Pupils complete six units of Geography/History every year, except in Years 2 and Year 6 where they have three longer units. Further down the page you can see more information about each unit and if you follow the link below you can see the yearly overview.
