Relevant skills and expertise you are bringing to the role of governor. I work full time and have three grown up children; twin sons James & Simon and a daughter named Jess. In my spare time I keep fit, pamper my granddaughter Erin, enjoy gardening and holidays with my daughter. I have worked for Lloyds Bank in the City Centre for over 30 years and in Change for 12 years as a Portfolio Manager. I really enjoy the variety my work brings with no day is ever the same. I applied to be a governor as I wanted to help children within the local community and felt that my skills and experience would enable me to be successful within the role and to be of value to St Barnabas.
Why I wanted to be a governor.

People management: recruitment, interviewing skills, etc.

Finance: reviewing actual monthly spend figures against forecasts, challenging underspend or overspend, tracking of approved budgets, etc.

Leadership: leading teams, working collaboratively, etc.

Mentoring: supporting and coaching junior and less experienced team members.

Governance: setting up and implementing governance frameworks at both programme and project level.
